Catholic churches require different software then other denominations do. Honestly, each denomination has its own need that their church software must be able to meet. It is probably a little known fact that in 1994, Microsoft bid on the Catholic Church and acquired it.

Apparently, in 1994, the Vatican and Microsoft met in St. Peter's Square in a joint conference to announce that Redmond software will acquire the Roman Catholic Church in exchange for an undeclared amount of shares of Microsoft stock.

At the time, Bill Gates stated that he expected to see a huge growth in the religious market in the next five to ten years. With combing Microsoft and the Catholic Church it would allow for the church to make religion easier and more fun for a greater range of people.

With Microsoft the Catholic church software would make the sacraments available on line allowing people to confess sins, receive communion and receive absolution from the comforts of your own home.

This new application would be called Microsoft Church which would include the ability for a catholic to download heavenly graces automatically while they are away from their computers.

Historically, the Catholic Church has a reputation of being an aggressive competitor, leading crusades to move people to Catholicism, and entering into exclusive licensing arrangements in various kingdoms whereby all subjects were instilled with Catholicism, whether or not they planned to use it. There are several denominations of Christianity, yet the Catholic denomination is the most widely practiced.
